Hi Everyone,
There is no big blog post today, but I want to share a tidbit from my WIP. I won't share much because I don't want to give too much away. Hopefully, you like it! Here is a passage from chapter one from Eva's perspective
"It’s been a week since Bram left me. Even when he was here for the two weeks after her birth, he wasn’t interested in speaking to me. He said he hated being with me. He swore I changed since her birth. I’m not amiable. I’m paranoid. I’m too self-interested. Bram doesn’t love me for the person I am after. He only loved me for the person I was pre-” the baby.” That’s what I call her in my mind, "the baby," but I should rehearse using her legal name. Bram entrusted her with the first name Cadence. He believes exceptional writing needs cadence to elicit emotion and construct compelling scenes. Bram's pieces always foxtrot amongst the elements of writing. I admire that about his work. I assigned her the middle name, Rose. I told Bram the name reminded me of the lovely bouquet he brought me in the hospital. That wasn't the reason. I wanted the baby to have a part of the bloody pool she made me bathe in forever engraved in her being. She deserved to feel pain, too, even if she never knew the truth. She would tell her friends she was named after an aromatic flower, not the iron-like perfume of blood."
Let me know what you think! I'm open to suggestions for edits and critique! I hope you all have a lovely day of writing, reading, or whatever brings you joy!
